Compare the price per kilogram, not the price per spool. Spools come in different weights, and a cheap 750 g roll can cost more per kilogram than a 1 kg roll.
Then buy in packs. The more spools you order at once, the lower each kilogram costs, and with free shipping on filament orders there is no extra fee eating the savings.
In October 2026, single 1 kg PLA spools on Google Shopping ranged from about $10 to $25 depending on the brand. Our PLA+ packs land at the low end of that range once you pass 6 spools.
We are not always the lowest price on a single spool. Our case is the price per kilogram in a pack, the free shipping and the colors you choose.
Low cost filament fails when it arrives wet or with an uneven diameter, and then you pay with failed prints. Every spool we ship is vacuum-sealed with desiccant and held to 1.75 mm ±0.02 mm, so it reaches your printer dry and feeds evenly.
A failed overnight print wastes the filament, the electricity and the hours of the machine. Wet filament adds drying time before you can even start, and an uneven diameter shows up as gaps and blobs that ruin the finish.
That is why the real cost of filament is the price per kilogram of plastic that ends up in good parts, not the number on the label.
If you print a few hours a week, the 6-pack already gives you a real discount without filling a shelf. If your printer runs most days, the 10-pack is the sweet spot, and if you run several machines, the 30-pack brings the lowest price per kilogram.
Filament keeps for about a year in normal storage and for several years sealed in a cool, dry place, so a bigger pack is not money sitting at risk.
Weigh what you print, not the spool. A phone stand or a small bracket often uses around 50 g of filament; at about $12 per kilogram that is roughly 60 cents of plastic. A large 200 g part is still under $2.50 at the same price.
Your slicer shows the weight of every print before you start, so you can price your work exactly and see how much a pack saves you over a year.
Usually from a store that sells it in packs with free shipping, because the price per kilogram drops with every spool you add. Compare the price per kilogram, not per spool.
For small custom parts, printing is usually cheaper: a part that uses 50 g of PLA+ costs well under a dollar in filament at bulk prices.
Single spools usually cost $10 to $25 per kilogram in the USA. In our PLA+ packs the price per kilogram goes down to about $11.
Not by itself. What hurts is filament that is wet or out of tolerance, which causes clogs and failed prints. Check that the spool is sealed and states its diameter tolerance.
